Tilaw respects your privacy. We collect only what is needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

We store your email, display name, age group, Mushaf progress, learning sessions, circle memberships and preferences. Prayer-time reminders are calculated on your device; your precise location is not sent to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it for a feature that requires it.

How we use it

Your data is used to save progress, provide personalized learning, manage circle memberships and process optional payments. Recitation audio you record for correction is sent only to the correction service you choose.

Sharing

We do not share personal data with advertisers. We use trusted providers for hosting, authentication and optional payments, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Device permissions

Microphone: used only while you record a recitation, so it can be checked; recordings are processed and are not published. Location: used only after you tap “use my location”, to compute prayer times and the Qibla, and it is never shared. Notifications: used only for the reminders you switch on. Each permission is optional and Tilaw keeps working without it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and its data at any time from “My account”, or through the public deletion page at tilaw.app/delete-account.

Your rights

You can update your profile, export your data, or delete your account at any time from the Account page.
